Δραματική χαρακτιρίζεται πλέον η κατάσταση στη νοτιοανατολική Αυστραλία, λόγω των ττεράστιων πυρκαγιών που έχουν ξεσπάσει εδώ και αρκετές εβδομάδες.
Έως τώρα, 19 άνθρωποι έχουν χάσει τη ζωή τους, ενώ δεκάδες χιλιάδες έχουν εκτοπιστεί από τα σπίτια τους. Οι αρχές παργαμτοποίησαν την Παρασκευή μία απεγνωσμένη έκκληση σε χιλιάδες πολίτες να εγκαταλείψουν τις εστίες τους, εν όψει καύσωνα και ισχυρών ανέμων που αναμένεται να επικρατήσουν αύριο Σάββατο. Τεράστια είναι η καταστροφή του φυσικού περιβάλλοντος, ενώ εκατοντάδες εκατομμύρια ζώα, πτηνά και ερπετά έχουν απανθρακωθεί. Δείτε Εδώ
Παράλληλα, αίσθηση προκαλούν οι εικόνες χρηστών των social media που απεικονίζουν πλήθος κόσμου να καταφεύγουν σε παραλίες, προκειμένου να σωθούν από την πύρινη λαίλαπα.
